SCA's 2023 Sustainability Award Winner
We are proud to announce that Primavera Green Coffee has been awarded the SCA's 2023 Sustainability Award for Business Model! The award debuted in 2004 and each year, they recognize an individual, a project, and a business model for their efforts in sustainability within the coffee industry. We are so honored to receive this award alongside the incredible individual and project winners this year.
Primavera was founded to share high quality coffees with roasters around the world, and sustainability has been built into our operations since the beginning. Much of this work happens behind the scenes, so in 2020 we began publishing our annual Sustainability Report to share more about our efforts. This has sparked so many interesting conversations with others in the coffee industry, and we are so grateful to our many partners who have worked with us over the years to share high-quality, sustainable coffees with coffee drinkers around the world. We were surprised and delighted to win the award this year, and we are more excited than ever to keep pushing toward our economic, environmental, and social sustainability goals. Please meet our new UK team member, Tom!
Tom started in coffee in 2014 behind the bar and quickly became immersed in the values, people and culture surrounding specialty coffee. After developing a strong interest in coffee roasting and sustainable sourcing he landed a job at a London roastery and spent the next 6 years broadening his skills and deepening his understanding. With every cupping, event, opportunity to travel Tom's enthusiasm for the community has grown. Now with such a diverse background in the coffee industry, Tom is excited to be helping bring together producers and UK roasters.
