Spreading some good news
IN THE MIDST OF ALL THE UNCERTAINTY WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF THE FIRST COFFEES TO EUROPE AND NORTH AMERICA!
We've been following the story of the Covid-19 public health emergency from Guatemala, Europe, and North America for many weeks now. As exporters and importers of coffee, our job is to connect Guatemalan producers to coffee roasters - and during this time, it is importan to listen to our partners at both ends of the supply chain and try to understand the current challenges.
As coffees begin to arrive at our warehouses in Europe and North America, we know that many roasters are not in a position to commit to new coffees. We understand that some of you have temporarily closed and/or have reduced sales. We are here to work with you even if you need to revise your commitments, buy smaller quantities, or buy spot this year instead of pre-booking. We will have coffee for all your needs with a speedy delivery so that you do not have to commit to big quantities during these uncertain times and will be ready with an open door as soon as the situation improves.
We hear you, and we're trying our best too.

In Guatemala, there are still few (70, as of today) identified cases of Covid-19, but the country is working hard to prevent a severe outbreak before it worsens. We currently are under lockdown, not allowing anyone to enter the country, have to observe a curfew form 4pm to 4am and are allowed out of home for basic needs. All public transport has also been suspended. We are supportive of these measures, because we can hardly imagine how difficult it would be to manage a crisis in our communities.
Now more than ever, we are on the phone with producers and our local team, working to wrap up purchasing while honoring the commitments we have already made to growers to buy their coffee for a fair price. So far, coffees have not been delayed leaving Guatemala and warehouses and ports have been operational in both exporting and importing countries. We are monitoring the situation carefully at all points of our supply chain, and we will communicate any changes.
Stay safe, healthy and positive,
Primavera team
