A short notice regarding COVID-19

As all of you, we have also been concerned of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. We will do everything in our hands to minimize the risk to our team and producers; and to protect the communities we live and work in.

COMMITMENT TO GUATEMALAN COFFEE PRODUCERS

As we are in the last stretch of the Harvest 2020, we will continue to source beautiful coffees from our beloved producers. We know that you count on our ability to source and supply Guatemalan coffees to roast and serve in your Coffee Shops. We hope that you and your customers will keep drinking coffee at home for now, and trust that the outbreak will be controlled in the coming weeks.

ORIGIN VISITS & GUATEMALAN OFFICE

We have cancelled all Origin Visits to Guatemala for now to ensure the safety of our partners and friends. At this moment there has been fortunately only 1 reported case in Guatemala but we are taking the situation seriously. We are ensuring our Guatemalan staff is taking care of their personal hygiene and we have adapted a new cupping protocol to be able to cup through the offer samples from our producers. Our staff in Huehuetenango as well as the dry mill is working as usual but is paying more attention to hygiene.

HARVEST 2020 & LOGISTICS

We will be landing the first Harvest 2020 coffees in Europe (UK) and North America (California) over the next 2 weeks. All of our exporting and importing are working as normal and we have not experienced any delays. We will continue to ship coffees as per usual in the coming months. We will also be sending pre-ship and arrival samples over the next weeks and all deliveries will continue to take place. We will make sure you are not left without coffee!

EVENTS & TRAVEL

As all major coffee events have been suspended or rescheduled, we hope to see you at these events later in the year! For now, our staff will not be traveling internationally and everyone has returned home safely from Guatemala and will be self-quarantine for the next 2 weeks.

SYMPATHIES

We would like to show our sympathies for our roasting partners around the globe for the difficult time they and their wholesale customers are facing. We are in this together and hope that once reopen we can build a stronger coffee community.
